Regular job in IT pays 100-120k depending on company performance, but most of my punting income comes from a tax free income stream. Best year was about 15k, worst about 7k. Not having a great year so far, maybe 4 or 5k...but have some good opportunities coming up the rest of this year.

I think that figure is before tax. After tax more like 60k PA, so about $1160 pw.

$300 a week on punting would be cause for concern, 1/4 of your income. Thats a problem.
