    Herpes scare

I went for a massage last week and got a nude body slide and bbbj from a nice young Japanese lady. In the days following the massage I started developing heaty rash and rough bumps around my groin and buttock areas.

I immediately thought of Herpes as the symptoms fit almost perfectly. Yes, it can be managed with medication or if your immune system is strong enough it may not flare up very often, but fuck! How am I going to tell the wife? What happens if one day she gets it from me? What am I going to tell her when I'm having a flare up and can't have sex with her? All these thoughts raced through my mind over the week which totally stressed me out and even triggered my migraine. Thankfully the in-laws are in town for a couple of weeks so I have an excuse not to sleep with my wife as it's just logistically not possible.

I went to see a doctor and he immediately diagnosed dermatitis and prescribed me with a steroid cream. I thought hmm yeah that's possible because the massage place wasn't very clean and I could have an allergy reaction from the massage lotion. However over the next few days the bumps developed into little dry black scabs which never happened when I had dermatitis on other parts of my body. The scabs looked awfully similar to some of the photos of herpes you find on the web which worried me a lot.

Just yesterday I went to see a doctor again and insisted to get a swab test to find out what the hell I'm having. Test result came out today and it's...shingles! Fuck, what are the odds that this once in a lifetime illness with symptoms that almost exactly mirror an STD appear on my groin and buttock areas (unusual for shingles) right after I went for a punt?

I'm so so relieved but I'm really thinking about giving up punting entirely now as the stress and worry are just not worthwhile when this kind of thing happens.

Has anyone here had any close call with STD from a punt? How did you handle it and did you go back to punting ?

Shingles and herpes are in the same family.
Do the crime do the time.
I'm not married so if I get something I'd have to live with it.
Marriage is a sacred institution, once married stick with your wife only. I'm sure plenty will disagree. When I have gf's I not interested in punting anymore.

Had an unwanted/unrealised BBFS CIP moment.

Was feeling like shit after and head was in a whirlwind thinking about STDs and shit in a similar fashion.

Thankfully tested negative. Had been really put off punting for a while because of it.

I can't believe you are cheating on your wife. What is this world coming to. I think herpes is afraid of being infected by you....

Jokes aside I'm actually glad for you it was just shingles mate haha.

Agree with SlippinJ . Most likely herpes

    3. Your logical reasoning saying symptoms turn up in area where u did the deed. Unlikely co-incidence .

And here's a word of advice: check your vaccinations. There is a vaccine for shingles. Might prevent, can reduce severity. I have friends who have had shingles, and they've said it is not fun.

They are the same family but different viruses. Shingles is caused by Herpes Zoster, same virus as chickenpox that lies dormant in your body and would usually flare up once in your life. The STD herpes is caused by Herpes Simplex.

The swab tested for both viruses as the doctor also suspected shingles. The result only came up positive for Herpes Zoster so it's definitely shingles.

Would have to agree with you mate. No idea how blokes look elsewhere when they have it on tap at home. I’m single AF (happily too I might add) but if were in a relationship of any sort, i’d be avoiding other women… glad that its not just me.

Shingles is caused by Varicella Zoster (VZV) virus which is the same virus that caused chickenpox that lies dormant in your body, whereas the STD herpes is caused by Herpes Simplex 1 or 2 (HSV). They are different viruses even though they are from the same family. The swab test tested for both viruses as the doctor also suspected that it could be shingles. The test result is only positive for Varicella Zoster but not for Herpes Simplex. Therefore, it's shingles and not the STD herpes.

I understand that position and I wish my resolve is as strong as yours. I drew the line at FS. I've not once done FS outside of my marriage after I got married.
After what happened this week I'm not in the mood to go punting anymore and will probably give it up entirely. Let's see how much resolve I have!

You guys are preaching on the wrong forum. I’d say more than half of punters reading this are married.
Each to their own. No need to judge.

Shingles only shows up on one side (left or right side but not both sides) of the body so that would be one definitive tell-tale sign. I've had it, painful mfker right up their with gout in terms of pain threshold. If you've had chicken pox the virus never goes away, it gets buried in the appendix and lays dormant until one day out of the blue when your immune system is weak it strikes.

Perhaps wait until you are married and experience how, repeat, how, it can play out first hand.

My 50yr old partner leaves most 20 something WLs for dead in terms of looks and body, but unfortunately that doesn't convert to an active sex life.....

I am sorry to point out but you most likely have genital herpes. Like it has been mentioned, shingles only affects one side of the body and usually around the waistline. Genital herpes affect the groin and buttocks area, usually on the left butt chick but not always, upper end of your thigh.

Good luck with it. If you haven’t yet see another GP and ask for medication such as valacyclovir.

Before anyone else asks, no I don’t have it, you can see what I do for a living, not diagnosing, just trying to be helpful to this fellow punter.

Yep the rashes and bumps only appeared on one side of my groin and buttock as if it's separated by my butt crack, but it doesn't discount herpes. Only the swab test confirmed that it's shingles rather than herpes.

Thankfully it wasn't too bad for me. The bumps and rashes sting when I touched them and it was literally pain in the butt when I sat down but they never developed into liquid filled blisters and sores. They just dried off and became scabs after a few days. They are just a bit itchy now.

The thing is you don't have it in tap at home.
In most marriages, sex drops to 0. She's just not into you.

Turns out there was a reason martial rape was legal. Because marriage literally destroys female libido.

It's not even that she doesn't want it. It's that she can't be bothered. She never initiates and every single intiation I do for the last 4 years has been shut down with my leg my arm hurts, im tired, I've got to go to work tommorow..

So I gave up. if she wants to be celibate. No problem. She can have 0 sex in the relationship.

Besides banging 18 year old jap girls is probably more physicaly fun anyway.

So jokes on her. While she thinks she's pulling one over on me, in that I'm trapped in the marriage with no sex and she gets everything she wants... Actually were both happy this way.

    My mates a GP.

He told me the truth is the stigma around herpes is worse than the condition itself. It's just like cold sores on the lip.

Over time the symptoms become less severe during outbreaks and may not even pop up as well.

He said that its not necessarily an indication that someone is cheating as well. Tests can't provide clarity on when you actually caught it. You may have caught it in your early 20s. Or you may have potentially caught it from your wife, she could've just been asymptomatic or dormant on her.

In saying this, to all the married blokes. Maybe it's best you fellas stick to HJs.

I know how you feel as I have been there before. These things happen from time to time.

Amazing skill some of you guys have to make an instant and definitive diagnosis just based on a post on a Forum.
And we are still wasting all this taxpayers money training doctors and pathologists, and funding Medicare
