When a girl has limited English, it sure makes it difficult to converse with her and what is on offer from these MLs or WLs. I guess using sign language as demonstrated by Christmas (and may I say she did it well) will hopefully send the message to the girl what you desire from her. In terms of apps, I have Microsoft translator on my mobile which does the job well. You can talk and type and it will translate for you.
