i recall reading about a japanese guy who lived in the countryside and goes to tokyo on business maybe once or twice a year, and he spends a loooot of time researching where to punt on his next trip: asking tons of questions on forums and reading hundreds of reviews, comparing loads of photos etc.

According to him, despite all these efforts, he still left dissatisfied on many occasions.

So this isn't a dumb question, not everyone can punt whenever they feel like it.
