basically i think the new layout is really bad.
things everywhere
we don't actually know what we are looking at
no boarders
all the forum posts are hard to read due to color configuration

Maybe I am a little bit old fashioned but I don't think the new forum is user-friendly at all.
Unless they can transfer the data from the old forum to the new forum. The switching of screen via link to the old forum and back and forth is really time consuming and confusing.
I don't think I will post more under the new forum and I think the hit rate will slow down for this website because retrieval of useful information on girls and shops/agencies are now much more inconvenient and complicated.
Furthermore, Admin has to maintain the old site for indefinite time frame because all precious information on girls and shops as well as past PMs of individual member are only available in the old site.

It just needs a bit of getting used to, just like buying a new TV set, one has to learn the extra new functions instead of just turning it on and off.
This is a very popular server as used by a few other forums ! It's got a lot more functions waiting to be explored !
Transferring the contents of the whole forum is not possible as I was told due to different format !

The new forum is nothing special in terms of the layout but I am sure that some good hidden features will bring us around to seeing the advantages after a while. The one thing I am not a fan of is all of the advertisements flashing. It seems unnecessary to me.

Then why did you put that flashing ad next to your post?
Just kidding DeepImpact.
ps are you the sweet C cup girl or the not so cute punter? I'm confused..

Nice one, very funny. If I have to choose then I am the 'not so cute punter' I guess you could say but I do have other redeeming qualities that my beautiful namesake may not possess.

this new forum should be ok in terms of performance as it is using one of the most popular software vbulletin. but who ever design the site should be more conservative abt the color choice .
1. i think color should be more mild to give more focus on text as text is the important feature of any forum.
2.those advertisement banners are cheap design.the guy design it has no sense.plain stupid as it is torture to eyes.
3.what wrong with old posts, there should be option to migrate those data to this forum.,what if someone want to see old reviews?how could admin sacrifice those gold mine. that's the asset of the forum.get someone who could fix it.
4.there should be another section in Sydney forum;Roster .it will give a clean view to general section,i guess.
i think this one is better example of design and color scheme http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php

It doesn't seem to be an upgrade to me. I really think the old site is better and I am not the one complaining the old site. Maybe they need the help of some system man brother like Commanderpost to help them. Ask bro. Commanderpost for help, Admin, particularly for the data transfer and he will give a discount to you for his services

I think almost everything is fine.
Except the ads and the links at the top and bottom.
Sucks.
The colour and design don't match with the overall colour and design of the forum.
Those links' design : "aus99.com", "melb99.com", etc.
Looks an outdated design.
I think admin should consider changing the design.

hi brothers
This thread is moved away fro Sydney - General talk TO Feedback, Questions and Complaint.
Yes, new features, higher security and more colour skins available, which means more flexible
1.) Yes, mobile version - which is the main reason we purchase this forum from US, thus it give you no banners and no images in mobile version, so that you can make posts and reply quick and easy in mobile
2.) Will add more color and design in near future (which you can set your favorite color in your profile setting, instead of this pink)
3.) Under each borad, there is a new features - Thread Display Options so that you can search and sort the thread according to your preference, which it can give you quick and direct information as you needed.
such as Search Prefix - Roster, so even we have 1000 threads in Sydney General talks, it will only filter and shows you all roaster, which it is 100% much more easy to find info as you needed than the old forum
Thus, we no need to have another section called Roster. Try the great SEARCH PREFIX features.
4.) Flashing banner, when compare to old forum, actually it appears less frequent. as it only appear on the top and bottom of the page
where in the old forum, every few reply, you will see one.
We reduce the banner because we wanna give you faster loading time.
5.) Of course we did try hard to do the data migration, even we contacted vbulletin and willing to pay them money to do data transfer, however, vbulletin replied me by email that they don't have solution to transfer data from eBlah -> vBulletin.
If you have time, visit vbulletin forum and you will find out that many other ppl in the world also requesting the same data migration solution from vbulletion company for eBlah -> Vbulletin
Any brothers can help, email us..... we tried hard and no luck.
6.) sorry for doing the stupid design and color choice, as we are not professional graphic designer. Welcome giving us valuable suggestions and advise. I did create a poll for you guys to vote and tell us what colours do you want? we will set up more color according to your choice.
We are here to serve you, listen to you and action according to your needed. Thanks for everything and really hope all brothers can continue supporting us.
Your support is really important to us.
Have a good day

May be after some time I will get use to it. I cannot even find a place where to post a new Thread yet.
Anyway thanks for trying.

Admin, I understand you have a problem for the data transfer/migration from the old site to the new site but if you don't solve the problem or do it manually yourself with your team members, that means you will have to maintain the two sites for an indefinite period of time until all the precious information/data in the old site becomes obsolete due to the lapse of time which maybe one year or even longer.
There is also the problem of members' PMs which are still kept in the old site. Most members including myself want to maintain such PMs even though they are old ones.
I can only forsee that without a solution to the data transfer, I will have to continue to browse the old site from time to time for a very long period of time

Well said brother Niceman,
I just spent half a day mirganting the Snow Lotus threads across with all my detailed postings plus any meaningful posting from all supporting brothers and a few bad ones too. In the next few days, I will browse through the old forum to see if there is any of my old posts that I am proud of or if they were informative like those two about Chequers and Babylon, I bring them over myself. Since Admin has confirmed that the data transfer is not possible, I guess it's now up to ALL the brothers who have contributed so much to make the forum what it is today to put in a bit more personal efforts here to at least restore your own "treasures" and bring them across over here so that the legends can live on.
But it will be very sad to leave "Newtown Massage" behind as that was not a one man efforts, it's a continuous growing reasons of all massage punters, 330,000 views and 2,000+ replys are just awesome!!
Well, I will do my own little bit, how about you??
Cheers

Bro. Lungor, I welcome your move to bring everything treasure over from the old site to the new site but as an user who has involved in so many system upgrades, I really don't think I am supposed to do all that. I can still recall as an user, I was involved in any system upgrade by participating in meetings and writing user's specifications for the software company to adjust its standard software to meet my requirements.
Having said that, I know the website owner is not a big corporation making a lot of money out of this website and I do like to interact with many brothers (like yourself) via this forum. I'll see what I can do to transfer over some of my reports here but shop owner can assist to do so like MOC brother has done a good job transferring over all the good reports for his current girls. Maybe Bluemoon bro. should follow suit as I have written a few good ones for them too.
I still think that the website owner (i.e. Administrator) can do something by employing some part time helpers to bring over all the ARs and General Discussions threads of the old site for at least the last three months to the new site. This should not be difficult to do but need a bit of money and manpower. It is worthwhile to do so as it will definitely assist the website owner to make more money in the future. If they don't do that, they will waste their monies in this system upgrade exercise because the new site has got nothing there now but a bunch of functions (which not everybody likes or know how to use) and colorful screens. I am a pragmatic man and always believe contents are more important than appearances.
Sorry for being frank in my discussion of the new site though my views may not be shared by other brothers.

A couple of things i found out yesterday while transferring Snow Lotus across was you can not post anything for more than 10,000 characters, the old site didn't have this restriction, and the limit was only 5,000 for PM,
This mobile version is good but it has lost the auto correct function which i was more used to from the old especiaaly when you are typing words like "I'll" and don't , this version no longer change the word and add the ". '. " automativally for you.
In regards to historical data transfer, that to me is the single most important factor to consider when upgrading to new systems, if this is not possible or incomplete then the have picked the wrong system as simple as that.
Can you imagine in any business where after a system upgrade, ALL client data and historic sales records and account ledgers detail will need to be manually re entered???
Well no point blaming the Admin, what's done is done, just see who has the time to do some SOS......no wait.......it's SOP
Save Our Posts!!!

I will let the shops and Admin do their work. It is really not users' responsibilities to do all this clerical and tedious work to preserve the data which is meant to be precious for the shops and this website.
But I will continue to post and write AR in the new forum to show my support for this website.

Hi brother AHLUNGOR
I just remove the max number of character 10000 limitation for the post limit.
I did put 10000 before because in case there is spam post, i don't want them to put unlimited characters in the spam post
lets see how it goes, if crazy spam comes, I may put the limitation back
This is also one of the reason we purchase this new forum, more security and control, thus, we have more control to stop/prevent spam post

Admin., I can see that members and guests are still browsing your old site/forum a lot and the hit rate there shows that you may have to maintain the old site for a very long period of time if you can't solve the data migration problem and can't find the manpower to do it for you manually.

I just hope you did not pay anyone for this implementation as it would appear to me that every rule for running a successful project has been ignored. The first and most important would have been to have a requirement that existing data be converted; second get feedback from the customers on what is required etc etc etc
You can surely see from the lack of posts that it is not a successful project. Punters MAY come back over time we will just have to wait and see.

Hi Admin Brother,
Thanks for removing the 10,000 limits, wish that was there earlier when I was moving "Newtown Massage" as I was moving 1 page at a time as a new reply and whenever there was a few decent sizes posts I have to split the reply into two, but that's OK, all done now, and most of those oversized replies were either by myself and brother Steven............LOL

I wonder how many people here work in IT and are thinking how they would've done it a better way. :) See Admins, you should've formed a working group from the users here, maybe people would have at least put in some ideas on how to do the migration and keep the old posts, which is really very important for a site like this. I found a converter here: http://www.blahdocs.com/Forum_Converters but I don't know if it's compatible with the E-Blah used by the old site.
The flashing GIFs make it look like a porn site. Some people might have an epileptic fit.. OH&S warning!! :)
And please, change those colors. They really hurt the eyes. Pink? Why not start with more common colours -- whatever Yahoo/Amazon/ Flickr/ Google /FB/ Apple/ Microsoft are using...
I already emailed the admins a lot of comments about the forum threading, so won't repeat myself too much. Anyone else a bit annoyed with mobile version because Subject lines are now wrappping around and occupying two lines on screen. The old forum wasn't mobile specific but you could see more info as each post only occupied one line on screen. I don't find the "[Shop]" "[Advise]" etc kind of tags at the start of some posts very useful. Subject description usually gives you enough info anyway. Any Subjects that don't tell the user enough info tend to die a natural death.
