For STIs definitely go if something seems wrong. Also depending how often you have BB services you should get regular testing as well, this is because some STIs may not cause noticable symptoms in you, yet you can still carry them and you can still suffer long term damage from them. No need to test after every punt though.
To give you an idea many responsible WLs get tested monthly. So about a 3 monthly test for a regular punter would make sense.
