Going on a punting road trip from BNE to Sydney - worth it?

In terms of accommodation, which budget hotels do you recommend me to stay? I am thinking about spending around 80 AUD for the day rate and am not looking for anything fancy, just a small room with bathroom facility and a single bed in a safe suburb is fine.

I can help re where to go for the more budget friendly FS shops in Sydney.

If you go to Thailand or Philipines would foist you less and you will be able to enjoy a variety of activities and even spoil yourself. Flight to Bali, Singapore or Vietnam are reasonably priced. Thailand and Philippines seem to be little higher.
