Question - meaning of PM?

Hi Gents, I am very new to this forum and some of the terminology can be a bit cryptic. Could someone please advise the meaning for example "PM me privately" and how is this done? Many thanks.

5-10 posts and approval from a moderator to message i think. I think its automatic, but after you 5th post it may take awhile to work
